An ancient Roman theater, a rock legend and his piano. Last night, Elton John performed a historical concert inside the Roman amphitheater of Pompeii. Along with his band, the British superstar performed a 2 hour concert in front of sold out crowd.

Works by multidisciplinary Belgian artist Jan Fabre are now on display at various points throughout the famous art city, including Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio, and Forte Belvedere.
In a long awaited return to the ancient city of Pompeii, David Gilmour will perform two shows this summer. The July performances will take place in the same amphitheater featured in Pink Floyd’s classic “Live at Pompeii” concert film. The site of the historic shows is in fact home to the oldest surviving Roman amphitheater, preserved by the infamous eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. The ampitheater resided under ash for nearly 1,600 years following the eruption of Vesuvius.
