Honeymoon on the Amalfi Coast

Honeymoon on the Amalfi Coast

With its crystal blue waters, colorful houses, and sheer cliffs descending into the sea, the Amalfi coast has long been a popular vacation destination. Its popularity has only been increasing, making it more important than ever to start planning your trip early.

We at the Italian Concierge get a lot of inquiries about planning a honeymoon in Italy. While there are many romantic destinations throughout the boot, one of our favorite honeymoon trips is the Amalfi Coast region. We suggest a three to four night stay on the coast, coupled with three nights in Capri and three in Rome.

Plan to budget approximately $11,000 to $14,000 dollars for 9 nights, which exclude flights based on the current currency conversion rates.. This figure includes 9 nights at a 4 star hotel, private transfers to/from all locations, and daily excursions including a private guided tour of the Vatican and Coliseum, cooking class, hiking guide, and private boat along the coast.

We suggest you fly into the Naples or Rome airport, and out of Rome. Upon arrival, a private driver will meet you outside baggage claim and transfer you to your hotel on the coast. On your first day, relax on the beach or by the pool, allowing yourself time to unwind and adjust to the time change. Other suggested activities include: Trail of the Gods hike, a small group cooking class hosted in a private villa, a private boat along the Amalfi Coast.

Once you set foot on the magical island of Capri, you will understand why it is such a popular destination for jet setters and celebrities. The dramatic cliffs descending into the sea, the natural beauty, the exquisite gardens, high end boutiques, and turquoise waters make the island a true paradise. For the active traveler, there are several fantastic walks on the island.

While on Capri, we suggest taking a boat around the island, including a stop at the famous blue grotto. For those who are sea weary, relax in style at one of the islands several posh lidos or beach clubs. Here you can relax on a private sunned while enjoying fantastic food, drinks, and views. At night, enjoy the island’s posh night life at club Number 1 or the Taverna Anima Core.

After three days of your island retreat, head back to mainland Italy and up to Rome. When in Rome stroll at your leisure while visiting the highlights: the Pantheon, Spanish Steps, and Trevi Fountain, Forum and Coliseum with or without a private guide and not to forget a tour and tickets of the Vatican museum and St. Peters.

Wrapping up your nine day tour, enjoy a private transfer to the airport for your departure flight. While all good things must come to an end, the memories (and photos) will last for a lifetime.
